XMU School of Mathematical Sciences Holds the First Joint Work Meeting of Tianyuan Mathematical Centers

On the morning of January 9, 2019, the first joint work meeting of Tianyuan Mathematical Centers was held on the Haiyun campus of Xiamen University. Initiated by academic leadership group of the Mathematics Tianyuan Foundation affiliated with the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the meeting was hosted by Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southeast China (TMSE). Professors Zhang Weinian, Zhao Bin, Li Huilai Tan Shaobin, deans of School of Mathematics Sciences of four universities, attended the meeting. Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southwest China (TMSW), Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Northeast China (TMNE), Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Northwest China (TMNW), Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southeast China (TMSE) are respectively attached to these four universities - Sichuan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Jilin University Xiamen University. Yang Zhijian, vice dean of Wuhan University’s School of Mathematics Statistics attended as a nonvoting delegate. The meeting was hosted by Tan Shaobin, director of Executive Committee of TMSE.

Firstly, Tan Shaobin extended his warm welcome to participants. Then he spoke about the reason for Xiamen University to host the joint work meeting introduced the key topics of the first joint work meeting. Contents are as follows: the scope of work for each center in 2018 work arrangements for each center in 2019, exchange about management operation of academic activities of each center issues to be addressed joint work mechanism of the four centers.

Lian Zeng, secretary of TMSW’s Executive Committee, Chen Zhiping, vice director of TMNW’s Executive Committee, Zhang Ran, vice director of TMNE’s Executive Committee, Zhu Yujun, secretary of TMSE’s Executive Committee, each presented a report on behalf of their respective centers.
