The Mordell conjecture, proposed by Mordell in 1922 and proved by Faltings in 1983, is a milestone in the history of Diophantine geometry. In this talk, we will introduce the Mordell conjecture and its quantitative version recently proved by Yu-Yuan-Zhou.

个人简介：

袁新意，北京大学讲席教授。2003年于北京大学获得学士学位，2008年于美国哥伦比亚大学获得博士学位。袁新意教授的研究领域是数论与算术几何，在Gross-Zagier 公式、Bogomolov 猜想、Mordell 猜想等问题上作出重要贡献，在Annals of Mathematics, Acta Mathematica, Inventiones Mathematicae 等重要期刊上发表论文多篇，并出版专著两本。袁新意教授获得了诸多奖项和荣誉，包括2000年国际数学奥林匹克竞赛金牌，2008年克雷数学所学者，2022年新基石科学探索奖，2025年华人数学家大会金奖，2026年国际数学家大会受邀报告人。
