Restriction Estimates and Applications to Number Theory

In this talk, I will introduce restriction estimates and discuss their applications to additive problems in number theory. I will focus on two examples. The first concerns a quadratic Waring–Goldbach problem with variables restricted to short intervals, based on joint work with Lilu Zhao. The second concerns a version of Vinogradov’s theorem involving Piatetski–Shapiro primes, based on joint work with Shanshan Du and Hao Pan.

个人简介：

孙宇宸博士，现任英国布里斯托大学（University of Bristol）高级研究助理（Senior Research Associate），受欧洲研究理事会（ERC）项目资助从事博士后研究工作。他于2024年在芬兰图尔库大学（University of Turku）获得博士学位。他的研究聚焦于解析数论与加性组合学，在博士及博士后阶段，他深入探索了素数间隙（包括小间隙与大间隙）、短区间上 multiplicative functions 与加性特征的均值估计、素数稀疏子集中的加性结构（如将经典 Vinogradov 三素数定理推广至 Piatetski–Shapiro 素数），以及一类特殊 multiplicative 函数在几乎所有短区间中的渐近公式等重要课题。其工作同时涉及加法数论与乘法数论的多个前沿方向。截至目前，孙宇宸博士已在IMRN等国际数学期刊上发表学术论文10余篇。
