Schur's orthogonality relations for unitary representations have played a crucial role in the development of representation theory. We will discuss recent developments and mention some links with ergodic/equidistribution properties of boundary actions of infinite groups.

个人简介：

Professor Christophe Pittet holds dual French and Swiss citizenship. He earned his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Geneva in 1992, advised by Professor A. Haefliger, and obtained the “Habilitation à diriger des recherches” from the University Paul Sabatier Toulouse III in 2000. His career includes roles such as Researcher at the University of Paris-South and Chief Researcher at the University of Neuchâtel. Since 2003, he has been a Professor at Aix-Marseille University, with visiting professorships at Cornell University (2001, 2006) and the University of Geneva (2017).
