内容摘要:

Rossby-Haurwitz waves can be regarded as a special explicit solution of the incompressible Euler equation on a rotating sphere, which is closely related to spherical harmonic functions. The speaker will present some known results on Rossby-Haurwitz waves. In particular, the speaker will present the results of the recent collaboration with Guodong Wang and Bijun Zuo on the orbital stability of degree-2 Rossby-Haurwitz waves. 

个人简介：

曹道民，中国科学院数学与系统科学研究院研究员，博士生导师，国家杰出青年科学基金获得者，德国洪堡基金获得者。主要从事非线性偏微分方程和非线性分析的研究，多次承担国家自然科学基金重点项目和面上项目。在《Adv. Math.》、《Arch. Rational Mech. Anal.》、《Comm. PDEs》、《Duke Math. J.》、《Math. Ann.》等国际知名期刊上发表学术论文160余篇，与人合作在Cambridge University Press出版专著一部。先后获得中国科学院“青年科学家奖”、“杰出青年”、“优秀导师奖”等荣誉。担任《应用数学学报》和《数学物理学报》副主编以及《Applicable Anal.》、《Ann. Acad. Sci. Fenn. Math.》等学术刊物的编委。
