The aim of my talk is to give an elementary introduction to mean dimension. I will begin mostly with the Bebutov-Kakutani dynamical embedding theorem for real flows, which states an “if and only if” condition under which an abstract flow can be equivariantly embedded in a concrete flow over a standard function space. Starting from this, several directions were then involved. As an alternative, we may consider if there is any possible refinement or any typical analogue with a different point of view, and further, we may pose natural questions from a dimension-theoretic perspective. We generally restrict ourselves to some intuitive context of acting groups, while noting that the mentioned invariants can be defined also within a framework of a much more extensive family of group actions.

金磊,中山大学数学学院副教授;2018年获得中国科学技术大学和波兰科学院数学研究所(IMPAN)基础数学博士学位。研究方向是拓扑动力系统,目前主要集中于平均维数(mean dimension)理论;相关研究论文发表于Math. Ann., Studia Math., Fund. Math.等学术期刊。
