The coding of dynamical system is a way to simulate chaotic behavior by symbolic dynamics. We prove that every Cr diffeomorphism with r>1 on a three-dimensional manifold admits symbolic extensions, i.e., topological extensions which are subshifts over a finite alphabet. This answers positively a conjecture of Downarowicz and Newhouse in dimension three. This is a joint work with David Burguet.
个人简介:
廖刚,苏州大学数学科学学院教授。主要研究领域为微分动力系统与遍历论,先后在包括Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., J. Eur. Math. Soc., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., Math. Z, Ergodic Theory Dynam. Systems, J. Stat. Phys., Nonlinearity等国际期刊发表学术论文多篇。主持多个国家自然科学基金项目,2021年获基金委国家优秀青年科学基金资助。
