Abstract:
In this talk we will show that there exists Willmore deformations between minimal surfaces in H^n and S^n. The deformations of the Veronese two sphere and its generalization provide examples of complete minimal surfaces in H^4 with varying Willmore energy. Applying to a class of minimal surfaces in S^4, we show that they are non-rigid in the sense they admit global, non-trivial minimal deformations.

王鹏，福建师范大学教授，闽江学者特聘教授。主要研究方向为Willmore曲面与极小曲面，连续主持国家自然科学基金4项，在J. Differ. Geom., Adv.Math., Bull. London Math. Soc.等杂志上发表论文20余篇。
