Let G be a finite transitive permutation group on a set X and recall that an element in G is a derangement if it has no fixed points on X. Let D(G) be the set of derangements in G and define d(G) = |D(G)|/|G|. By combining recent work of Larsen, Shalev and Tiep with a theorem of Fulman and Guralnick, it follows that G = D(G)^2 and d(G) > 0.016 for all sufficiently large simple transitive groups G.

个人简介：

Tim Burness，英国布里斯托大学教授。博士毕业于伦敦帝国理工。主要研究兴趣包括有限单群和代数单群（特别是子群结构、共轭类和表示理论）、置换群及其相关的组合问题、计算与概率方法在群论中的应用。现为J. Group Theory的共同主编和J. Algebra的编委。其主要研究工作发表在Ann. of Math., J. Eur. Math. Soc., Mem. Amer. Math. Soc., Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., Math. Ann., Adv. Math.等期刊上。
