Abstract: We discuss joint work with Benjamin Matschke in which we developed a practical method to solve certain classical Diophantine problems such as for example Mordell equations. We also present some new Diophantine conjectures motivated by our resolution of large classes of equations.
Speaker Introduction：清华大学高等研究院副研究员 Rafael von Kanel 2005-2010年在瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院数学本科生，2010-2011年在瑞士苏黎世联邦理工学院博士生，2011-2012年在美国普林斯顿高等研究院 Member，2012-2015年法国高等科学研究所和德国马普研究所博士后，2015-2018年美国普林斯顿大学博士后，2018年至今清华大学高等研究院副研究员。他主要从事数论和代数几何的研究，在《International Mathematics Research Notices》、《Documenta Mathematica》、《Acta Arithmetica》等专业杂志已发表多篇研究论文。
