A continuous-state branching process in varying environments is constructed by the pathwise unique solution to a stochastic integral equation driven by time-space noises. In terms of the stochastic equation we clarify the behavior of the process at its “bottlenecks”, which are the times when it arrives at zero almost surely by negative jumps. We show the process arises naturally in a scaling limit theorem of Galton-Watson processes in varying environments. This is based on joint papers with Rongjuan Fang and Jiawei Liu.

李增沪,国际数理统计学会会士,国家杰出青年基金获得者、中国数学会概率统计分会主任、数学教育工作委员会副主任、北京师范大学数学与复杂系统教育部重点实验室主任,曾获高等学校科学研究优秀成果奖自然科学一等奖和首届全国优秀教材基础教育类特等奖(联合主编)。
