The subject of homogeneous dynamics focuses on the study of dynamical properties of subgroups acting on homogeneous spaces of Lie groups. As such, homogeneous dynamics is closely related to many different areas in mathematics. In particular, some interesting problems in number theory can be reformulated and studied through the dynamics on SL(n, R)/SL(n ,Z). In this talk, we will take a tour of no-dense orbits on SL(n, R)/SL(n ,Z) and related problems in number theory. We will first explain the relationship and then show how it is used to solve interesting problems in number theory. Finally, we will discuss some recent developments.
个人简介：
关力凡，西湖大学理论科学研究院特聘研究员。2015年博士毕业于北京大学数学科学学院，从2015年至2021年，分别在北京国际数学研究中心，约克大学以及哥廷根大学从事博士后研究工作。2021开始全职加入西湖大学。主要从事李群，算术群以及相关的齐性动力系统和数论方面的问题。研究工作主要发表在 Compositio Mathematics, Advance in Mathematics, Transaction in AMS, International Mathematics Research Notices 等杂志。
