Abstract:

The Alfven waves are fundamental wave phenomena in magnetized plasmas and the dynamics of Alfven waves are governed by a system of nonlinear partial differential equations called the MHD system. In the talk, we will focus on the rigidity aspects of the scattering problem for the MHD equations: We prove that the Alfven waves must vanish if their scattering fields vanish at infinities. The proof is based on a careful study of the null structure and a family of weighted energy estimates. This is based on the joint work with Mengni Li.

Speaker Introduction

于品,清华大学数学系与丘成桐数学中心教授。2010年美国普林斯顿大学博士毕业。入选中组部青年拔尖人才计划(2015);国家优秀青年基金(2015),杰出青年基金(2018)获得者; 第十六届中国青年科技奖(2020)获得者。研究领域涉及广义相对论,微分几何,偏微分方程。主要工作包括:在广义相对论中对黑洞刚性问题,及黑洞形成机制深入研究; 利用微分几何方法,并结合黑洞形成理论,研究三维激波形成机制,以及波方程大初值解,MHD方程整体存在性。在Ann. of Math.(2), Invent. Math., J. Eur. Math. Soc., Ann. PDE, Adv. Math., Comm. Math. Phys.等国际顶级期刊发表多篇学术论文。
