2019 Workshop on Numerical Algebra in High-Dimensional Data Analysis

Date: December 26-29, 2019 (registration on 26 and talks on 27-29).

Background or Purpose:

Numerical algebra provides powerful and indispensable tools for high-dimensional data analysis, from the classical singular value decomposition (SVD) for principle component analysis (PCA) to modern tensor computations for deep neural network. This workshop brings together young scholars working on high-dimensional data analysis and numerical algebra in high-dimensional data analysis to exchange ideas and discuss recent development on this area. The topics include but not limited to deep learning, structured solution of underdetermined linear algebraic equations, low-rank matrix/tensor recovery, quadratic/bilinear/multi-linear algebraic equations, and matrix/tensor factorizations, with an emphasize on both the computational efficiency and theoretical guarantee of these numerical algebra methods for high-dimensional data analysis tasks.
