Abstract:

This report examines the groundbreaking advances achieved by large language models in proving two renowned mathematical conjectures, illustrating the disruptive impact of artificial intelligence on mathematical research paradigms, teaching models, and research evaluation. It analyzes the implications of AI for the teaching and development of university mathematics courses, and explores the core components and framework of smart-course development, the construction of an AI-empowered “teacher–machine–student” instructional model, and the implementation of a data-driven process-oriented assessment system. Finally, the report shares our team’s pioneering work in developing digital textbooks for advanced mathematics, including its guiding principles, development model, content design, and implementation in teaching.
