Abstract:

In a joint-work with Yijun Yuan, we establish a mod p Harmonic number identity. Together with the transfinite Newton algorithm, we give an explicit formula for the first \aleph_0^2-terms of the expansion of a root of the p^n-th cyclotomic polynomial in the p-adic Malcev-Neumann field. As an application of this truncated expansion, we construct a uniformizer of the local field Q_p^{\zeta_{p^m}, p^{1/p}}, for all m\geq 1.
