Abstract:

In this talk I'll introduce what I think it is a (perhaps in some cases, "the") natural object to study thermodynamic formalism, namely quasi-cocycles. I'll discuss some interesting applications of the concept and I'll establish a Livsic type theorem for them.
This is part of a joint project with Federico Rodriguez-Hertz (PSU), dedicated to understand thermodynamic formalism for some dynamical systems arising from geometry.
