Abstract:

Hecke operator is frequently used in number theory and theoretical physics. In 2018, Harvey and Wu discovered a new Hecke operator on vector-valued modular forms which reveals novel relations among the characters of 2d rational conformal field theories (RCFTs). I will discuss some recent developments on this Hecke operator including the application to the classification of 2d RCFTs, W-algebras, and the generalization to the super case. I will also discuss the relations between the Hecke operator and permutation orbifolds and the Galois conjugate in modular tensor category.
