Abstract:

Carathéodory metric is an important invariant metric in several complex variables. We discuss some recent researches in complex geometry utilizing such metric, which are related to: 1)  Siu’s strong rigidity for arbitrary bounded domains; 2) Lang’s strong general type conjecture for quasi-projective varieties; and 3) nonexistence of level structure on moduli space of hyperbolic Riemann surfaces.
