Abstract:

This talk introduces our recent work on bound states in the continuum (BICs) and their applications in photonics. BICs are special light modes that stay perfectly confined without radiating energy. They enable low-threshold lasers, highly sensitive sensors, and enhanced harmonic generation. I will explain their basic properties, physical significance, and how they can greatly improve light–matter interactions.
