国家天元数学东南中心拟于2026年11月23日至11月27日开设“Regression and Fitting on Manifold-valued Data”短课程，相关安排如下：
一、短课程介绍
1. 主讲人：Chafik Samir（University of Clermont Auvergne）
Chafik Samir is an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences with HDR) at the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) in France. He is a member of the LIMOS (Laboratoire d’Informatique, de Modélisation et d’Optimisation des Systèmes) laboratory and co-leads the MOCA (Metamodeling, Continuous Optimization and Applications) research team.Dr. Samir’s research bridges mathematics and computer science, specifically in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Statistical Shape Analysis.He has authored numerous papers in high-impact journals such as Applied Mathematics and Computation, IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, and Scientific Reports. He co-authored the book Regression and Fitting on Manifold-valued Data (published by Springer in 2024), which provides a general framework for manifold-valued data applications in robotics, medicine, and biology.
2. 课程简介：
This course introduces geometry, interpolation, and fitting on manifolds including six chapters.

· Matrix Manifolds: Rotations and Subspaces
· Positive Definite Matrices and Hyperbolic Geometry
· Statistical Manifolds: Probability Measures and Densities
