2. 短课程摘要
Theory of vertex algebras provides a natural framework for studying various structures related to infinite dimensional Lie algebras. Vertex algebras are also related to conformal field theory in physics. Furthermore, theory of vertex algebras has many important applications in group theory and other algebraic structures. The aim of this course is to present some current ideas and constructions in this theory. A particular emphasis will be given to vertex algebras associated with affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras, W-algebras and vertex algebras appearing in LCFT in physics. A connection between C_2 vertex algebras and admissible affine vertex algebras will be discussed.
