Entropy and pressure are important invariants to measure complexity of dynamical systems. In this talk, we show that the intermediate entropy property holds true for a large class of vector fields--the star vector fields which includes the famous Lorenz attractor. On the other hand, considering the notion of pressure, the intermediate pressure property holds for Cr(r≥2) generic Lorenz attractors while it fails for Cr(r≥2) dense Lorenz attractors, which gives a sharp contrast.

王晓东,上海交通大学数学科学学院副教授,从事大范围微分动力系统的研究工作,在同宿类双曲性刻画、含奇向量场的遍历理论等方面取得一定成果,证明了限制在同宿类上的星号猜测,与合作者证明了星号向量场的Palis物理测度猜测和中间熵猜测等,取得的成果发表在《 Ergodic Theory Dynam. Systems》、《Trans. Amer. Math. Soc.》、《 Israel J. Math. 》等杂志。
