We show that any torus link $\mathcal{L}$ is the union of the one-dimensional connected components of the critical values of the argument map restricted to a complex algebraic plane curve. Moreover, we give some applications on singularities of complex algebraic hypersurfaces and Milnor's fibers. We state some interesting questions and conjectures on knots in general. This is a joint work with Yen-Kheng Lim.

个人简介：

Mounir Nisse, Associate Professor at Xiamen University Malaysia. The primary focus of his research lies in the areas of complex algebraic geometry, computational algebraic geometry, tropical geometry, complex analysis, combinatorics, deformation of singularities, (co)amoebas of complex varieties, and mirror symmetry. He has published several academic papers in J. Analysis and Math. Phys., J. Reine Angew. Math., Contemporary Mathematics Amer. Math. Soc. and so on.
