Uniformly degenerate elliptic equations arise naturally in many important geometric problems and other contexts. However, it is hard to find a systematic study of this class of equations in literature. In this series of talks, we use the classical PDE methods to study the Dirichlet problem and discuss the existence and regularity of solutions. Different from the uniformly elliptic equations, solutions of equations with smooth coefficients on domains with smooth boundary may not be smooth. We will analyze obstructions to the higher regularity.
