TMSE Invites Prof. Xiping Zhu to Deliver the 1st Colloquium Talk

On the afternoon of February 21, Prof. Ziping Zhu from Sun Yat-sen University was invited to deliver the 1st colloquium talk, in the title of “Regularity of Harmonic Maps Between Singular Spaces” at Xiamen University. The talk was hosted by Jianxian Qiu, vice dean of School of Mathematical Science.
Prof. Zhu firstly gave a brief introduction to the basic concept of harmonic maps among smooth manifolds the regularity of harmonic map. Then he emphasized the importance of the research on singular spaces, thus to introduce history current situation of regularity of harmonic maps between singular spaces. He, at the end, put an affirmative answer to the conjecture as well as shared his solution to it.
Techers students did benefit from his brilliant talk. During the Q&A, Prof. Zhu patiently answered participants’ questions in detail.
