XMU Holds the Launching & Unveiling Ceremony of Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southeast China

On the afternoon of January 8, the launching & unveiling ceremony of Tianyuan Mathematical Center in Southeast China (TMSE) was held in Xiamen University. Academicians invited to the ceremony included Tian Gang, Xi Nanhua, Yuan Yaxiang, Li Jianshu, Zhou Xiangyu, Jiang Song, Zhang Pingwen, Tang Tao, Fang Fuquan Chen Zhiming. Also attending the event were Zhang Rong, president of Xiamen University; Jiang Yunbao, vice president of Xiamen University some school authority of peer colleges. Tan Shaobin, dean of XMU School of Mathematical Science assistant to the president, presided over the ceremony.

Firstly, Zhang Rong extended his warm congratulations on the establishment of TMSE. Then, Yuan Yaxiang, leader of academic leadership group of Mathematics Tianyuan Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiang Song, director of Department of Mathematics Physics, National Natural Sciences Foundation of China Tian Gang, dean of Academic Committee of TMSE each delivered a speech. Zhang Rong presented appointment letters to Tian Gang, who served as director of Academic Committee of TMSE, Li Jianshu Tang Tao, vice director. Lastly, Zhang Rong, together with Tian Gang, Yuan Yaxiang Jiang Song, unveiled the plaque of TMSE.
