Abstract:
The double centralizer property is one of the most fundamental principles in Lie theory and representation theory. It underpins classical results such as Schur–Weyl duality, which connects the representations of general linear Lie algebras (or quantum groups) and symmetric groups (or Iwahori-Hecke algebras) via mutual centralization on tensor spaces. In this talk, I will first introduce a ring theoretic approach (by Koenig-Slung{\aa}rd-Xi) to the proof of the double centralizer property in many examples. Then I will talk about their generalization and application.
